The Mitas sponsored rider Petr Pilát has won the prestige FMX 2009 award
The prominent world freestyle rider Petr Pilát, who is also a contractual Mitas rider, has won a prestige award in the public inquiry FMX Awards 2009. This Czech freestyle number one has got a good placing even in two categories. In the first category BEST EUROPEAN FMX ROOKIE (NOVÁČEK), Peter has won the first place and, in the category BEST TRICK INNOVATION, he has been the second one behind the world number one, Travis Pastrana.
The public inquiry FMX Awards has been founded in 2006. Every year, it sets forth the best freestyle riders of the world according to the results from the previous season. In this prestige public inquiry, the best FMX riders are selected in two rounds.. In the first round, a commission of specialists, journalists, camera men and organizers of the FMX races decide the selection of five best riders in individual categories. In the second round, all those who want to back up their rider, have already the right to vote in the internet.
Awards are granted altogether in fourteen categories.
Petr Pilát is actually the best Czech freestyle rider. In the worldwide scale, he belongs among the first ten best riders of this prestige motorcycle discipline . Owing to his excellent sports performances and behaviour, he has rightfully been nominated for the FMX Awards 2009.
